Boys Youth Lacrosse
Lacrosse is a fun, fast paced, competitive team sport played with a long handled netted stick and a rubber ball. The sport is growing in popularity. Boys lacrosse is now a WIAA high school sport as well as a US Olympic sport.
Capital City Lacrosse Club recruits players in the greater Madison area between 1st and 8th grade, and we welcome players from all of the neighboring communities. Our players often feed into the MMSD high school team as well as the Edgewood/Monona Grove co-op high school team.

Practices are held twice a week at lower Garner Park. We reserve two fields, one at the corner of South Whitney Way and South Hill Drive (East) and the other at the corner of South Rosa Road and South Hill Drive (West). Frequently Asked Questions
What is my player is required to wear during games?
Jerseys are provided by the club at no additional cost to players. If you lose your jersey, additional jerseys can be purchased. It is your player's responsibility to keep the jersey clean and in good condition. Jerseys will be returned to the club at the end of each season.
While we do require a jersey for club and game participation, we do not require a Capital City uniform for players. We ask that your player wear a black bottom and have the option of a white or black top to wear underneath the jersey provided by the club.
If you would like to purchase a Capital City Lacrosse branded player pack, please visit our team store. This is a great place to pick up extra gear, equipment as well as other items to show your support for the team.

Can I play another spring sport while participating in Capital City Lacrosse Club?
It is our goal to grow the sport of lacrosse in Madison, and we understand that schedules are busy and conflicts may arise.
Many of our players play overlapping spring sports, or the end of a season is wrapping up as we are starting our practices.
If you play two spring sports, we ask that you please inform your coach and mark your available attendance at practices and games so that your coach can plan accordingly.

I am new to the sport, will I expect to get any playing time at games?
Each player will have a fair opportunity to participate in games and practices. Coaches will strive to ensure that all players, regardless of ability, receive meaningful playing time during scheduled games, unless limited by injury, disciplinary action, or absence. Capital City Lacrosse Club seeks to promote skill growth, enjoyment, and equal participation among team members.

What if my friend is playing on another team, can I play on that team?
Teams are assigned based on age. This guidance is given to us by both our Wisconsin (Badgerland Lacrosse Association) and National (USA Lacrosse) governing bodies. If a player would like special consideration to move to another team, please reach out to the club and we can discuss options.

Does my player need to be a member of USA Lacrosse to sign up for the spring season?
Yes, each one of the Capital City Lacrosse players needs to also be a member of USA Lacrosse. They provide essential insurance for the player and our club. The membership cost $60.00 and requires an annual renewal as well as proof of age. (You will need to upload your player's birth certificate.)
